LOCATION.-- Lat 39°14'03", long 90°23'40", in SE1/4SE1/4 sec.11, T.9 N., R.12 W., Greene County, Hydrologic Unit 07130012, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 267, 1.4 mi downstream from Link Branch, 3.5 mi northwest of Kane, and at mile 16.1.

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 868 mi2.

GAGE.-- Water-stage recorder, phone telemeter, and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 426.77 ft above sea level. Prior to Oct. 1, 1928, at site 2.0 mi upstream at various datums. May 17, 1940 to May 17, 1943, water-stage recorder, and May 18, 1943 to July 19, 1970, nonrecording gage at site 800 ft downstream at present datum. July 20 to Sept. 18, 1970, nonrecording gage at present site and datum.

REMARKS FOR CURRENT YEAR.-- Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
